How do I embed a multi-media file that allows a user to toggle on or off closed captioning?
I can embed the file using the Multimedia Macro and have a corresponding .srt file for the closed captioning.
If this is a Confluence limitation, is there a work around other than embedding the closed captioning within the media file which does not allow for closed captioning to be turned off?
Thanks.
Hi Mary,
We currently don't offer that feature. I am thinking about it though.
I'd love to chat about how you'd be using this feature if you have the time https://calendly.com/owallis (or let me know here).
Thanks
Owen
Hi, Sorry for the delay in response. Thank you for confirming that the feature does not exist. We are using an internal Confluence site to post training videos (vs. using YouTube for external access) and want to allow users the ability to toggle on closed captions within the embedded media player when needed. To be consistent with other media capabilities, Confluence's embedded media play would need to use a companion closed caption .srt file that would be posted in the same location as the video. The work around we are now using is to hard code the closed captions into the video which does not allow users to turn it off. It would be great to have the flexibility for toggling closed captions on and off.
Thanks.
