I deleted the default overview page that comes with a Confluence space because I wanted to use another page as the overview. After deleting it I went to the space settings and set an existing page on my space sidebar as the new overview. This worked well but when I pressed "Overview" then all the pages under "Pages" disappeared (see screenshot).

I found out that only child pages of Overview appear on the sidebar when I go to "Overview". Therefore, I moved all my pages under Overview. But then if I go to one of those child pages the "Overview" appears under "Pages" as the parent of all pages. This wasn't happening with the default Overview page.

I don't mind if all pages need to be a child of "Overview" but is it then possible to remove "Overview" from the "Pages" section when another page is selected?

Hi @Bruno Nunes Sampaio and welcome to the community,

  • Navigate to space settings
  • Manage pages
  • Reorder > Drag and drop all pages UNDER your new overview page (I mean to be as 2nd level in the hierarchy). The new view should look like the one below:

Thank you Alex! I had already done this before I posted my question. The issue was that the new Overview page was still appearing both at the top and under the Pages section. But after refreshing the page this issue stopped happening and now all my pages are back under the Pages section which is exactly what I wanted.

Hi @Bruno Nunes Sampaio  and welcome to the Community!

By default, when a new space is created it comes together with a default home page. Every other page created in this space is positioned under your default home page.

Basically, when you deleted the page at the "Overview" link, you have deleted your root page for your space , a.k.a. the Home Page.

What you can do is to create a new page or choose one of your already existing pages and set it up as a Home page. It will start appearing at the "Overview" and all it's child pages will appear in the tree section. Check the following piece of documentation for more info.

Hope that helps!
