Oracle JDBC connection attempts blocked due to no program name

We are trying to use the SQL macro in confluence to access oracle databases. We have configured the server.xml file with Resource name information entries to use jdbc to connect to our target. For security reasons we have logon triggers that expect a connection to the database to include username, machine name and program name information. It seems that when confluence tries to to connect to target database via jdbc it is not passing a program name and therefor the logon trigger is blocking the connection attempt.

Our question is how to configure the jdbc connection used by confluence to include a specific program name? Is there a setting that is similar to the 'AdditionalParams=v$session.program\=[program name]' solution that we have seen other tomcat application use to provide a program name?

Hi - We currently have a ticket open with Bob Swift Software to try and get addition guidance on this issue. Thanks for the help.

Heya Nathaniel,

It seems that this case is being tracked inside our Support channel and here's the support response:

Hello Nathaniel,

From your description, it seems that you're looking to include an specific program to run in the datasource. Specifically, for the Bob Swift's SQL plugin, right?

That being the case, since such customisations or database modifications are out of our Support Offerings, we have the following articles, which could help you on this matter:

Configuring a SQL Server Datasource in Apache Tomcat

Data source configuration - application server

If you have additional questions or settings that you want to implement, we can engage one of our Atlassian Experts or proceed with the questions through our Answers forum, as you have already tried. :)

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions in the meantime, Nathaniel.

Hope it helps you!

Cheers,

Giu
