Page History Comparison change highlighting broken in Safari?

At some point in the recent past, the change formatting of the Page History Comparison tool stopped working in Safari, but continue to work as expected on Chrome. These are both on macOS 10.14.6. I was able to confirm others in my organization are seeing the same thing. Any ideas on what happened?

My IT department heard back from Atlassian. They say this has to due with a recent change to Safari and while it's on their radar, it's not a very high priority. They noted that it still works in Chrome. 😕

Thank you for sharing that information. I discovered we've raised a bug for this, seen below.

In the meantime, Chrome and Firefox will still work as a workaround.

Yes, it broke again with the most recent update to Safari 14.0 (15610.1.28.1.9, 15610)

Still seems to work as expected in Chrome.

Noticed today that the change formatting seems to be functioning again in Safari. 👍🏻

The same happened to me also. Not a clue what happened or how to fix it, but thanks for the Chrome tip.
