Page variables, date field display default date as today

In Confluence, we are using date filed on a page, when we type // it is giving a date picker. Our need is to set the default date of the control is current date.

Hi @Karteek ,

If you press enter key after // then it will display the current date on your confluence page.

By default, the date picker field will always point to the current date.

There is a variable called $currentDate, but this is only included with the Meeting Notes Blueprint. There's a feature request below to be able to access those variables in other templates:

• CONFSERVER-30567 Allow for access to common variables in Blueprints templates

If you're on Confluence Server, then you can write a User Macro to do this. There are more details on the thread below:

• Insert current date into Confluence page

You can modify this User Macro to your needs, but you'd be able to insert the macro into any template you'd like and it'll automatically show the current date and time.

Additionally, you can just do what @Manisha Kharga _Appfire_ suggested, and use the date macro. For this, you might want to add some Instructional Text in your template to guide your users to select the current date using the macro.
