Panels - Info/Note/Error/Success/Warning

If you add one of these panels from the left margin of a document, the panel appears exactly as it should. However, if one attempts to place a panel within indented text such as a bullet or numbered list, the panel refuses to place in the intended text. Instead it appears below the list on the first opportunity of finding the left margin. This is not an issue in the Server release.

Example - If I am writing step-by-step instructions and want to place emphasis on important information such as, Call support before proceeding!, these colored panels cannot be used, I have to resort to going backwards and use attributes such as bold, italic or underline which are being used for other elements of style.

How do we get panels to acknowledge indented text instead of falling below the indents and appearing on the first left margin it can find? Is this an omission or a bug?

There is a workaround now, but it's not perfect (the list note remains un-indented).

  1. Place your cursor at the end of the bullet sentence.
  2. Press ENTER twice to break the bullet sequence and return to left-margin indent.
  3. Insert your Note, Info or Warning. This will appear at left-margin indent, not the bullet list indent.
  4. Place your cursor at the beginning of the following bullet and press BACKSPACE to remove the bullet.
  5. Manually enter the correct bullet or number. Press SPACE. Confluence will accept the sequence correction.

End of procedure.

What you're doing, effectively, is breaking the bullet sequence for the Note and restarting it.

Hi @Jack

I don't know if this is a bug, I didn't found any results in the bug list.

But, I can confirm this behaviour. But also, I'm not aware of any possibility to achieve your goal...

There are similar questions in the community, sadly with no answers. Like this.
