Hey Confluence-Users,
I am very interested in the feature of
- encrypting pages or whole areas in Confluence
OR
- encrypting single fields / tables / attachments within a page in Confluence
AND / OR
- database encryption of all data (like i.e. for the PostgreSQL-db attached to Confluence)
So far, I have found solutions ONLY for JIRA - but not for Confluence?
Do you have any updates regarding this feature? Are there some addons available in the meantime?
Thank you very much!

Hello Flo,
This is not currently possible in Confluence, but we have a few feature requests for the same:
Please vote on these requests to show your support, and comment there with your usage case.
And finally, for Confluence content encryption, there was previously a request, but we do not have plans to implement it in the near future.
Closed as Won't Fix per:
Given the length of time this request has been open and the low number of votes it has received, this feature is not on our roadmap or future plans for the product.
You need to trust the people who administer your Confluence instance. If you need to store data which cannot under any circumstances be seen by the administrators of the system, Confluence is probably not the right system to store such sensitive data.
There are a few add-ons on Marketplace that relate to encryption of data. They may interest you.
Let us know if you have any questions about any of this.
Regards,
Shannon
Hi Shannon,
thanks for the reply - I have voted for all these requests and commented on them to push it.
-> keep in mind that these days, encryption should be implemented almost everywhere - especially in business-driven-applications like Confluence server!
In example Messenger-apps show that encryption-implementation can work transparent and 'easy' if the developers take their time.

*Update: I have checked your link to the Marketplace - seems to be one or two addons which could reuqire our needs.
I will test them on our testing-system, thanks for the link ;)

You're welcome, Flo! I'm happy to help in any way I can.
If you haven't already, you can also add those comments regarding how it should work on the feature request. That way it can be considered if we go forward to implement it.
Take care, Shannon

Hi Shannon,
Can we set up a password prompt for any specific Doc or page in cloud offerings.
We wish to have this feature to protect the document being downloaded

Hello Sam,
Thanks for following up!
You would need to insert script directly onto the page in Confluence in order to password protect it. Some examples are available on the thread below:
In addition, you can use an add-on for this, such as:
If you have any issues or trouble with this, I would recommend raising a new thread, since this thread is old and the answer is already accepted. By raising a new request you can ensure that users will see this since it's a new, unanswered post.
Regards,
Shannon
