Personal spaces not connected to users

Nick Shaw January 12, 2014

So here's an interesting little problem. We recently updated to Conf 5.3.1 from Conf 4, and we're noticing that some users' personal spaces are no longer connected to their accounts.

The spaces are still there and still functioning, but all the pages say they were created by "anonymous", and those users have the option to add a personal space in their top-bar dropdown. Though when they try it just hangs indefinitely.

It's happened with a majority of our users, but not all of them.

Hi Nick

In the new Confluence 5.3 and above, there some changes in the database schema in user referencing. It is possible that the ugpgrade did not properly reference the user to it's content.

I would suggest you to perform an force upgrade again on the user referencing:

  1. Go to this link <confluence-url>/admin/force-upgrade.action
  2. Force upgrade the following:
  • referencedUsersUserMappingUpgradeTask
  • userIndexingUpgradeTask
  • personalSpaceCreatorCheckUpgrade
  • userKeyReferenceUpgradeTask

Cheers,

Jing Hwa
