Placeholder text not visible when viewing template

Hi there! I created a template that uses placeholder text. The placeholder text shows up beautifully in edit mode, but if I select the template for a new page and publish, that text is absent (and it makes the formatting look odd). Is there a way to fix that display?

Could anyone from staff please make a comment upon this? With us the placeholder text doesn't even show up in preview.
