Private confluence with public jira

Justin Volden April 8, 2017
We are curious about how making our confluence instance not accessible over the internet would effect our public jira to would be private confluence integration. My hope is that our service desk projects linked to a confluence space would still work as expected, present knowledge from Confluence in the jira customer portal even though confluence itself is not accessible publicly. Would this work since jsd would be able to see confluence inside our network. We are on the server version of both products.

If your Confluence is linked to you JIRA Service Desk, you can define one space to be your Knowledge base : https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf53/developing-a-knowledge-base-on-confluence-wiki-411108858.html, and open it publicly, while the other Confluence spaces remain private.
