Hi, Federspiel.

I suggest you to read the following documentation in order to know more about migration:

You also can migrate with any of the following option:

Option 1

  1. Create a xml backup from the current confluence version
  2. Create a new empty database with the correct collation
  3. Install the same version of confluence
  4. After you successfully install, I suggest you to restore the xml backup you created in step 1 into the new Confluence

Option 2

  1. Create a database backup from the current confluence database
  2. Create a new empty database with the correct collation
  3. Install the same version of confluence
  4. After you successfully install, I suggest you to shutdown the confluence.
  5. Restore the database backup you created in step 1 into the new database you created in step 2.

You can download the confluence from the below link:

Hope it helps. Let us know if you have further question about this.

Hello Raj,

Thank you for your Reply. a small correction, i want migrate confluence space form one instance to another instance , not entire confluence.

Means , i have two instances ex: X and Y , i want transfer spaces from X to Y.

what are the best ways??

Space export and import will do this.

You will want to make sure that the two Confluence systems are close in version (ideally the same version, and at least the same major revision - 5.x to 5.y, 6.x to 6.y, 6.latest to Cloud, etc), but exporting a space to xml and then importing it will generally work fine.
