Add existing page to parent page

Steve I Rogers October 15, 2021

I have an existing parent page with the Child Display macro.

How can I add another (previously created) page to this same parent.

In other words:

1. I have Parent Page A with the Child Display Macro listing pages B, C

2 I have another page Z which I would like to include on Parent Page A in the child display macro.

Thanks

Go to page Z and in the 3-dots menu select "Move". Specify page A.

Thanks very much Mykenna.  That worked.

One additional question - Is it possible, in the above scenario, for page Z to be included as a child page on multiple pages.  For example, I would like page Z to be also included as a child on Page D so that page Z displays as  child for both Page A and Page D.  Is that possible?

Thanks.

Strictly speaking, no. A page can only have one parent in Confluence. So page Z cannot be a child of both page A and page D.

However, you can use the iFrame macro to embed page Z in page D, and leave page Z as a child of page A. Some pros and cons about using that macro:

  • It will duplicate the Confluence header and sidebar, which can confuse users (since the controls within the macro don't always work).
  • Using 100% for the width can be handy, but the height needs to be expressed in pixels (grrrr)

You could also explore these Macros: Include Page, or Excerpt with Excerpt Include.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community @Steve I Rogers
Mykenna is right, you simply have to move the page Z under Parent page A, so that it will appear as a child of Page A. Refer this link on how you can move a page.
