Advice for taking the Confluence Admin exam?

I'm considering taking the certification to become a Confluence Admin, but it's a path not many consultants at my organization have done, so I'd like to ask here.

How long did it take for you to study for the certification? How many of you were heavy Confluence Admins, and how many of you were simply Confluence power users? Did you find it hard?

@Capi [resolution] funnily enough I just posted my thoughts this a few days ago when I passed the ACP-200 Confluence exam. Pasting the thread below for you - if you want to know any more of my experience, let me know :)

Hi @Capi [resolution] ,

My advice is to practice - try out every setting and every macro you can just think of yourself. A lot of questions are very specific and the so-called "hands memory" will definitely help you.

For example, you can be asked with the help of which macro you can do this and can't do that. And "this or that" is not an obvious thing which you can find out from the name of the macros - if you don't use macros very often (and you may not if you are the Confluence administrator), you just won't remember it.

We've created an educational portal about Confluence where you can find links to online courses, how-to blog posts, books and other resources. Hope it will help you.

I can't speak for the exam as I've not sat it myself, but I do have one piece of advice - even experienced admins and power users should check the exam guides and docs for the lists of things you will be tested on.  The questions are divided into a series of subject areas (for example, email, macros, permissions) and you will get at least one question in each area.

When I looked at the stuff around email, all I'd done was add the outgoing email server settings, tested and not had to troubleshoot or do anything more.  So I would need to do quite a lot of reading to get up to speed, even after several years admin!
