Anchors, Document help is very confusing.

Confluence I swear makes instructions purposely confusing.

I just want an anchor in one page to work from a link in another and it just loads the page at the top. Not to the anchor.

I don't know what spaceKEY, means.. or what DOC means .  And nothing defines them either.

They give no typed out example. So I took a guess.

Our space name is TN, (is this a spacekey?)  my page is called Automation. My anchor is UBLateBlacklist in a page called "Automated tests"  So given they are in the same space, why does https://confl.ourcompany.com/display/TN/Automated+tests#UBLateBlacklist link I defined not go to the anchor but just loads the page its in at the top? (The anchor is at the bottom)  Please help, anyone. I had actually gotten it to work and had to start over due to some other issue and now it won't work.

I dont think this applies as I am in the same SPACE, so I did based on linking to a page, and it won't work.

Page in different spacespacekey:page name#anchor name

DOC:My page#bottom

DOC:My page#important information

TN is the space key. It is part of the URL. In the example DOC is also a space key.

If you link to the same space "Automated tests#UB Late Blacklist" should do (assuming "UB Late Blacklist" is the title of your heading). Note that in the User Interface you do not specify the ID that is shown in HTML ("Automatedtests-UBLateBlacklist" or similar), but the heading you refer to (including blanks).

And yes, it is confusing ... :(

link.pngHere is the example where I link to a different space.

The page I link to is on our server: https://www.smartics.eu/confluence/display/PDAC1/Documents+Service#DocumentsService-RelatedComponents (the anchor ID in the URL is generated by Confluence).

It worked!!! YAY!!  It also took a refresh to work also, if I just saved then tested it only loaded the page, if I refreshed the parent page with the link, then it worked, and I did see elsewhere that is required.

SPACE:PAGE TITLE#ANCHOR

TN:Automated tests#UBLateBlacklist

But after going back, it actually removed the TN: because they are in the same space.
