Hi,
I have followed the instructions to create an anchor, all good, however the link is not working between 2 separate pages belonging to the same Space.
I read a bit on the subject and it seems that people are having issues as I do currently, is it still a functionality having an unresolved bug as of today ?
Hi @Guillaume Bodiguel & @Emily Errico
I have a document that might help you out with Anchors. Check this page out.
https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/anchors-139442.html
Also just for a quick reference, here is the syntax for the link to find the anchors you inserted.
Same Page - #anchor Name
Same Space/Different Page - page name#anchor name
Difference Space - spacekey:page name#anchor name
I tested this in my cloud and server instances moments ago and it worked as expected.
Hello, thank you for reaching out!
I'm not sure if @Guillaume Bodiguel is having the same problem as I did (see here), but if it is the same issue, it's a matter of system functionality not just following the documentation.
What kind of pages did you test? I don't mean to hijack someone else's thread, but I was having trouble when trying to link to an anchor on a template-generated meeting notes page.

I just tested on standard pages, since @Guillaume Bodiguel didn't specify how the pages were created. Thanks for linking to your discussion thread. I am sure it will be quite helpful, if Guillaume is ind6ed trying to work with templated pages.

Hi All,
here are more details for you to understand my issue :
- Main page : https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/display/CF/Cloud+Financials
- Target page : https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/display/CF/1+-+US+GAAP
- syntax used : https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/display/CF/1+-+US+GAAP#phase3 where phase3 is the anchor name place on the target page.
When clicking on the link on the main page, the redirection works partially and brings me to the target page at least but not on the good location of the anchor.
I suspect that it is not working properly because of the space in the page name replaced by a "+" but i cannot change this anymore since the links have been shared with my organization already for a year. It is only lately that i wanted to use the anchor as we have added more information about our topic.
Thanks so far for your comments and help but unfortunately, I couldn't solve yet.

The page name should be in the link twice, like this: https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/display/CF/1+-+US+GAAP#1-USGAAP-phase3
If that still causes you trouble, try linking using the page ID instead of the page name. The following is from the documentation that @Kimberly Deal _Columbus ACE_ linked.
http://myconfluence.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=54689987#Test-page1!-anchor
Test - Page 1!
and the anchor name is anchor
.You can find the page ID by going to the page's page information and looking in the address bar.

Hi Emily,
Thanks for your answer, if I follow your instructions about adding the page name twice, it would be :
https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/display/CF/1+-+US+GAAP#1+-+US+GAAP-phase3
instead of
https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/display/CF/1+-+US+GAAP#1-USGAAP-phase3
right ?
Anyway I tried both and it is not working but still bringing me to the target page.
I will confirm the second option later and keep you updated.

The second time the page name is in the link it's supposed to be concatenated (taking out all the spaces) according to the documentation. I'm not entirely surprised it still didn't work, though, because I think the dash in the page name will still cause issues. Let me know how the page ID method works!

I obtained the ID and new URL format tested successfully before adding the extension :
https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=306216437
I then added the anchor link :
https://confluence.xyx.com/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=306216437#1-USGAAP-phase3
then I tried :
https://confluence.xyz.com/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=30621643#phase3
both solutions are not working for me, landing on the page but not at the anchor phase3 level...
PS: I forgot to mention the version we are using : Powered by Atlassian Confluence 6.6.1 (node2_0016: 7052ad5f)
Am I doing something wrong or there is it acting weird in here ?

The second of the links in your post has the page ID of 306216437 and the third has the page ID of 30621643 (no 7). If you are copy and pasting these, try them again with the correct page ID.
This is what your link should look like:
http://myconfluence.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=PAGEID#1+-+US+GAAP-phase3
Also looking back at my test link that worked, I had: "https://myconfluence.net/wiki/spaces/SPACEID/pages/PAGEID/PAGE+NAME#PAGENAME-ANCHOR".
Test the link with other content that shows up in the address bar on your page, that's how I got my test one to work.

Anchor links are (no longer?) not working on documents created from a template.

I opened a support ticket for my issue with linking to an anchor, but it was specifically not working for me linking to a meeting notes page. Were either of your pages you were trying to link generated from a default template?
