Best macros on Confluence

Hello everyone,

I am updating my list of Macros on Confluence and I want to install new macros (free or paid).

Is there someone who is working on Confluence long time and who, especially, works with big documents linked to each other?

What kind of new macros you can propose to me?

Which macros are essential for managing Confluence documentation?

I don't want to start my documentation and then understand that there are macros that are missing.

It depends on your company's needs. 

As for my company, there are 2 main extra-apps:

- Table Filter and Charts for Confluence

- Team Calendars for Confluence (that become core functionality to Data Center and Cloud)

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, each company has its own specifications and during the work, we will find out more and more needed macros. But at least I can have the base to work.

There are two types of macros / bundles that I've found to be essential over the years - I completely agree with a macro for Excerpt, Excerpt Include, and Page Include as others have noted here and the other macro bundle is for Content Formatting. 

If you are looking for something more advanced (now or later) as mentioned previously, ScriptRunner for Confluence is a great tool for Admins to automate, extend, integrate, etc. but it also comes bundled with about 10 helpful macros available to users as well.

The 2 plugins mentioned by @Alexander Bondarev comes in very handy. Apart from this if you are looking for an admin app - I would recommend Scriptrunner for confluence to manage pages, spaces & users, also you an automate, integrate and extend Confluence by scripting your own functionality.

Some I can think of are:

Excerpt, Excerpt Include, and Page Include. These are used for content reuse. Here's a video on that: https://youtu.be/qGjyHshdSTE

For internal documentation, the Page Properties and Page Properties Report macros are excellent for creating overview pages with details from many other pages. https://youtu.be/gIsC6wvN5D0

Not a macro, but still really powerful, be sure to come up with a strategy for using Labels to create connections between your content. You can do some amazing things with them! https://youtu.be/lnvTJCV2wB0

The first one, I am already using (Excerpt, Excerpt Include, and Page Include). They are really good.

And all others I will check one by one. I think they will give an interesting result.
