Hi everyone,
I’m the Sales Coordinator, and every week I’m working with large CSV exports of around 5000 rows—customer, product, and region data—that I need to present neatly in Confluence. I’d like an app that:

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
Hi @Maria Jones — nice to meet you! I’m Mia Tamm from Simpleasyty, the team behind Simple Table for Confluence, and I’d love to share how our app might fit your needs:
Multi-column grouping
Simple Table lets you group by any combination of fields (e.g. Region + Product Line) with just a couple of clicks. Your rows collapse into neat sections so you can drill into each group effortlessly.
Footer sums & averages
For every group you create, Simple Table can automatically calculate and display both the sum and the average (or any other aggregation) in the grouping row and in a footer row—no manual formulas needed, just a click.
Run on Atlassian (ROA) compliance
We’re fully ROA-compliant with zero data egress. All processing happens within Atlassian’s infrastructure, so you’ll meet your security team’s strict requirements out of the box.
Custom calculated columns
You can define formula columns—so if you import a Price field, you can instantly multiply it by Quantity (or any other numeric column) to generate a “Total Value” column, all without leaving Confluence.
Compact view (roadmap)
We don’t have adjustable padding or a dense-mode today, but it’s on our near-term roadmap—coming soon!
Bonus: Simple Table for Confluence is completely free to install and use.
If you’d like a quick demo or have any questions about getting Simple Table approved in your environment, just let me know—I’m happy to help!
Cheers,
— Mia Tamm from Simpleasyty
Hi @Mia Tamm
Thanks for the super clear rundown!
I installed Simple Table and did a first pass with a ~500-row CSV. It worked perfectly: grouped by Region + Product Line, saw the AVG badges per group and the SUM in the footer, created a calculated “Total Value” (Price × Quantity) without fuss, and the ROA/zero-egress model ticks our security box. This basically covers what our team needs.
We also tried a larger file (~10,000 rows). It eventually rendered fine, but we didn’t get any feedback while the table was being generated after configuration—looked like it might’ve stalled, then completed. Do you have guidance on the CSV size/row limits you support, and could a loading/progress indicator be added for big datasets?
One more: on #5 (compact view), do you have an ETA for dense/adjustable padding? Any temporary workaround to show more rows on screen in the meantime?
Thanks again—this is looking like the way we’ll go.

Hi @Maria Jones ,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback — it’s great to hear you were able to set up grouping, aggregations, and calculated columns so smoothly. I’m especially glad the ROA/zero-egress model fits your security requirements.
On large datasets (~10k rows), Simple Table can technically handle them, but processing time depends on both the file size and the complexity of the configuration (e.g., grouping + multiple calculated columns). I agree that a loading/progress indicator would improve the experience, and this is something already on our roadmap for large-file scenarios.
Regarding #5 (compact view), adjustable padding is also planned. I have great news. I just talked with the Dev team and next week we will have something in production. Stay Tuned!
Thanks again for testing with both small and large files — feedback like yours really helps us refine Simple Table for real-world use cases.

Hi @Maria Jones sorry my English is not so good; I am Japanese. I copy-paste this from Japanese to English, so maybe some wrong words.
We use Simple Table for very similar case (big CSV with customer/product/region). It lets us group by multi columns, show sums/average in the footer, and add calculated columns like Price × Quantity. I didn’t know this app before (maybe new in Marketplace), but @Mia Tamm kindly guide us for setup and it was smooth. Very robust and honestly surprising it is free. Our company would pay for this if it become paid.

Thank you, @Emi Sato! I’m glad Simple Table worked well for your use case and that the setup was smooth. It’s great to hear your team is finding value in it. that’s exactly what we aim for.

Hi @Maria Jones,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Why not using the Excel macro available in Confluence:

From what I can see, the Office Excel macro in Confluence embeds a view of the spreadsheet (sheet tabs, HTML rendering) but doesn’t provide interactive grouping/pivots on the page. You’d need to create the grouping/pivot inside the Excel file itself and then embed it; Confluence will just display the result.
It does preserve formulas that already exist in the attached Excel file (the macro maintains the file’s formatting and formulas), but formulas aren’t edited or created inside Confluence—the file must be updated in Excel.
Appreciate the help and the welcome!

Hi @Maria Jones ,
Make sure to check Confluence Databases: https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/databases
Although it may not have all the features you're looking for, it is a native feature that runs entirely in the Atlassian Cloud.
Also, you can import CSV files and embed them on pages for reference.
Hope this helps! =]

Thanks, @Thiago P _Atlassian Support_! I’m familiar with Confluence Databases and really like the direction they’re heading. For this use case, though, they don’t quite give me the flexibility I need right now—so great potential, but a bit short for the moment. I’ll keep an eye on them as they evolve.

HI @Maria Jones
Suggestion is Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence

Hi @Marc - Devoteam, thanks for the quick response!
Do you know if Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence (or any other app you’d recommend) is Run on Atlassian compliant?
In the company where I work, we’re migrating all our apps to the new Run on Atlassian framework and security is a top priority for us. Any pointers on ROA-compatible table apps would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks again!

Hi @Maria Jones
ROA means working on Atlassian.
Yes it does, this app is on the Atlassian Marketplace so it's compatible.
Suggestion I made is an app from the marketplace. not a product that will not work with Atlassian.

Hi @Marc - Devoteam, thanks again for clarifying that ROA means “Runs on Atlassian.” Under the new framework apps must enforce zero data egress, so security is non-negotiable for us. I’ve downloaded Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets and it covers some of my needs, but I’m not sure our security team will approve it for installation.
I’ve also come across ROA-compliant app, AURA Table Filter for Confluence. Are you familiar with this one? Would you recommend it for grouping with sums/averages and a compact view in Confluence?
Thanks!

Hi Maria,
Philip here from appanvil, the vendor behind "AURA Table Filter". I'm happy to talk about your feature request if you reach out to us via our service desk: https://appanvil.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/13
Best,
Philip

Hi @Philip Feldmann - appanvil
Thanks for jumping in and for the offer to open a ticket.
The feature asks are already outlined in my post. I’ve been testing AURA Table Filter and I can group data, but I couldn’t find a way to show sums/averages per group in a footer. Does the app support calculations or formula columns today? I wasn’t able to get this working.
Also, can it group by multiple columns (e.g., Region + Product)? And is there any compact/dense view to reduce cell padding?
On the plus side, the ROA (Runs on Atlassian / zero data egress) stance is exactly what our security team wants.
If I’m missing something, happy to try again with your guidance. Thanks!

Hi @Maria Jones ,
We currently don't support importing CSVs, however, that's something that we could quickly add as a feature if desired.
As far as I know, there's not a single app that is capable of doing every single thing you've outlined so far. However, our team is quick to implement feature requests and we could definitely add formulas if you tell us a little bit more about your specific use case via our service desk.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Philip

Hi @Philip Feldmann - appanvil Thanks for the quick follow-up and for being open to feature requests. Just to share a datapoint: based on @Mia Tamm suggestion I tested Simple Table for Confluence and it does cover the list I outlined:
Totally understand every product has a different focus and roadmap. I just wanted to clarify for anyone following the thread that there is at least one option that currently ticks these boxes. If I’ve missed something on AURA’s side, I’m happy to retest with your guidance.
Thanks again, and I really appreciate your collaboration on this.
