Can page tree refer page of different space

Harsha Chandra September 9, 2021

I am trying to create a tree of pages (they belong to different spaces).

"page tree" is allowing me to choose a page from a different space but it is not rendering for me. Showing an something like below:

スペース Test Suite にルート ページ TS:Test Suite Product & Engineering が見つかりません。

Is page tree, supposed to allow to reference page from different space?

I decided to go ahead with using two macros.

1. pagetree to create space level index page.

2. includepage to refer index page created in each space.

While this isn't the exact view I was looking for, this may come closer with whatever we have available.

Thanks you,

Harsha

Hi @Harsha Chandra

While there isn't currently a way to include a page from another space in the page tree, there is a way to achieve a similar result using the Include Page macro.

For example:

  1. Create a page in Space A
  2. Create a page in Space B
    1. Insert the Include Page macro into this page
    2. Select the page from Space A in the macro settings

Now the contents of the page in Space B will mirror the contents of the page in Space A.

For more details, see the Confluence Cloud documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-include-page-macro/

Hope this helps!

Best,
Jacob

@Jacob Brunson Thanks for pitching in. I checked include page macro. So I decided to go ahead with using two macros.

1. pagetree to create space level index page.

2. includepage to refer index page created in each space.

While this isn't the exact view I was looking for, this may come closer with whatever we have available.

Thank you!

@Vero Rivas thanks for the reply. I checked the pointed link, however my issue isn't resolved with the answers there. I have followed the instruction at this link https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/insert-the-page-tree-macro/. And I am trying to refer a page in another space. Is page tree isn't meant to refer a page tree from different space? Page tree configuration page is allowing me to select a page from different space but, as soon as I am publishing it, I am getting below text.

スペース Test Suite にルート ページ TS:Test Suite Product & Engineering が見つかりません。

I am referring a page Test Suite Product & Engineering which is in space Test Suite.

page make is used from different space.

@Harsha Chandra You could create a set of the pages in your new space and use the Include page macro to pull the content from the other spaces into the pages in your space.  This would ensure that when content changed in the source pages across various spaces, that the new set of pages would reflect those changes.
