Hello Atlassian,
We have some knowledge base articles with full-width settings, but they contain tables set to a wide setting (the selection handles were adjusted to a width in between fixed-width and full-width). In edit mode, the tables are centered. In published mode, the tables used to be centered on the page.
This morning (December 10, 2024), the tables are now all left-justified, with no edits to adjust the table justification. The tables were previously centered on articles before this date.
The left-justified tables are now off center from centered text (that aren't in the tables) in the same article.
Is there a way to revert the tables back to center justification (this is how they appear in edit mode)?
Thank you.
Update: The tables are all currently set to center-align when editing the table macro, but they are left-justified in published mode. The current workaround is to make the page fixed-width to center all tables. The question remains, if tables are set to center-align, why doesn't published mode reflect that?
Hi @Emmanuel Jose I took a quick look at Atlassian's Jira site and ran across CONFCLOUD-78990 is it possible the pages in question were created with the legacy editor and converted to the new editor?
Also, for testing, if you create a new table on that page, do you experience the same behavior?
Does creating a new page for testing have the same behavior? If not, and it's that ticket, I would recommend voting for and watching that ticket for further updates.
You can always request assistance from support to get further clarification.
Hope that helps.
Hi @Dan Breyen ! The pages were created with the new editor. The team noticed that on multiple pages, the previously centered tables on full-width pages became left-aligned on December 10.
If a new table is created on a full-width test page, the table is initially left-aligned in edit mode. However, if I switch back and forth between full and fixed width, the table will become centered in edit mode (with a center-align setting), but it will become left-aligned if the page is published in full-width (even with the table's center-align setting).
Essentially, fixed-width publishing will center the table, but the center-align setting of the table is overwritten in full-width publishing.
Thank you for that ticket link; will definitely follow it!
Emmanuel

@Emmanuel Jose I'd probably contact Atlassian Support and have them weigh in. I can see something going on with my instance, but I can get a full blown workflow to replicate it.
