Doing Smart Drop downs allows you to not only reference the field but also allows you to pull in data from the other form to the current form by using field definition rules.
In testing/prototyping, I have discovered that you can dereference/chain into other tables as well to retrieve their underlying data if the UUID from the other table.
My question is, does Confiforms have a limit to the number of dereferencing/chaining that can be performed, e.g., up to 10, 100, unlimited?

There are no limits in ConfiForms
You can navigate through the forms and fields as much as needed. But of course, each extra step adds a cost to the operation

@Alex Medved _ConfiForms_- I doubt I will ever have many steps in the navigation to pull the data together and completely understand the ops cost for chaining.
