Confluence 5.9.4 installation lost due to hacking. Need to install 6.15 and connect to old SQL db

1. We were on Confluence sever 5.9.4 that expired on 12/26/2018 (I assume that’s our version because of the folder name I see in iDrive)
2. We lost production confluence application and data due to hacking, and we believe it was caused by the security hole in our old Confluence version, as indicated on your website.
3. The SQL Server 2014 database of Confluence is safe on a different server.
4. We do have a backup of Confluence Application/Data on iDrive online.
5. We have a Windows Server 2012, where we want to recreate Confluence.
6. We have purchased, downloaded, and installed the latest version of Confluence Starter on that server, and want to use this going forward.
7. Now we are configuring it to connect with our old Confluence database.
8. We need guidance in determination of the implementation and configuration process we should follow in this scenario.

Install confluence 5.9.4 and update it to the newest version. that will also update the database. Just make sure you have a backup of the db and your home dir before attempting.

I followed instructions provided by Callan and also in the link Callan provided above. Following is the detail of what we did. Unfortunately it did not work. Not sure what we are doing wrong. Please advise

1. Created New DB 
2. ran following queries in (new database)
3. ALTER DATABASE dbname COLLATE SQL_LATIN1_General_CP1_CS_AS
4. ALTER DATABASE dbname
5. Set READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON
   WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE;
6. RAN Confluence Installer 5.9.4
7. STOPPED the Confluence Service
8. Copy and Paste the files/Folders from backup to Home directory
   edit two files (because we did not have xml backup)
   confluence.cfg.xml->hibernate.connection.url->Conf2019B
   make the path of Home Dirctory is correct in confluence-init.properties
9. Started Confluence Service
10. RAN Access Confluence from Win Server

unfortunately we got the error below

Confluence will not start up because the build number in the home directory [6441] is newer than the Confluence build number [6211].
