Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant App Enable

We have to migrate to Confluence Cloud form server. We are a small company so we are trying to do it by ourselves.

Today I tried a test migration. At the beginning I had the error message: "we can't communicate with your server" but everything seemed to be working so I continued the migration.

After a while I noticed that the progress bar stayed the same at 66%. When I looked at the details I saw that some spaces where migrated successful - some other had the error message: "Failed to migrate space attachments confluence".

I figured there had to be a problem with the server connection so I stopped the test and wanted to start a new migration test.

Some people suggested for this problem to disable and enable the CCMA. (https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/we-can-t-communicate-with-your-server-error-in-ccma-1108479896.html)

So I did this. Unfortunately now I can't enable it again with the error message: "An error occurred during installation. Refer to the logs for more information."

I ran the tool under "troubleshoot" but it told me that everything is ok in our instance. I tried to send our support zip to Atlassian but we are so small that we have the starter version and don't get access to support.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this problem? Any help would be much appreciated as I'm not a professional admin and doing this next to my normal workload.

Thank you very much!!

Hi,

In this case, my recommendation is to follow the first computers law: Restart the application.

The second option is to try to enable the application using REST API: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/cannot-enable-or-disable-bundled-system-apps-or-modules-1035241968.html

If nothing works for you, you could try to reinstall it: how-to-install-a-specific-version-of-the-confluence-cloud-migration-assistant and then, try to enable it again.

The last option is to try to use the safe mode: https://confluence.atlassian.com/upm/disabling-and-enabling-apps-273875716.html

I hope any of those options work for you.

Thank you Rafael,

unfortunately I can't restart the application then I get an error message. I also tried to uninstall the app but it is still in my list of addons as if I have never uninstalled it.

I think I will have to migrate every space via XML ex- and import.

Thank you anyways :)

I should have written you earlier. After I wrote the last message I tried one last time to uninstall the app - and it worked!!

I have tried to reinstall the addon via the marketplace and still couldn't get the addon to enable.

But I installed version 3.3.13 (one version earlier) manually from this site (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219672/confluence-cloud-migration-assistant/version-history) and it is seems to work. I see that I started a migration with the addon and I can start a new one.

So I think version 3.4.0 (released at 2023-01-31) was the problem.

Hope this helps some poor soul in the future. Good luck to you!
