Hi
We are in the process of migrating our confluence cloud to confluence server.
I have done a number of spaces and are now getting down to the more complicated spaces.
My method for this has been exporting individual spaces and just importing them into our server instance.
I have a particular question and wondered what issues i may get and how best to resolve then
I have CloudSpaceA which has a lot of links to items in CloudSpaceB and CloudSpaceC
When i migrate CloudSpaceA to our confluence server the links will still reference CloudSpace B / C which is fine as users will then be directed to the cloud instance.
What happens to this link when CloudSpace B and C are migrated to the server will we have to relink the items in CloudSpaceA to migrated space in Cloud Space B / C
Regards
Hiten
Hi - I just tested the following: In Cloud, added a relative link in space 123 to a Confluence page in space Team. I imported both spaces to a server instance and the link from one space to the other worked on that instance without referring back to Cloud.
If the links are relative links, inserted by using the plus sign and choosing a page, the links will update when the space is imported.
Absolute or "web" links, which are the ones defined with the full URL, will continue to point to the Cloud instance since they are explicitly set. We have a workaround documented, it seems a little cumbersome so I am hoping your links are the relative variety rather than the absolute kind. How Do I replace all 'hard' links to my old Base URL
Hi Ann,
It all worked perfectly. there were a few little hurdles to tackle such as duplicate spaces on both environments so the links were getting broken but updating the XML files helped with this.
