Confluence DC next Long Term Support

Michael Vidallon February 24, 2022

Hello,

With 7.13 as latest LTS DC version, do we know what the next LTS version be for confluence?

We are assessing whether it makes more sense to upgrade to 7.16.1 as the latest instead of 7.13 LTS.

Any recommendations?

No.  We will not know until Atlassian announce it formally.

We can guess a bit though.  The cadence since Atlassian started doing LTS releases seems to average out at 15 months (I couldn't see useful patterns in release numbers)

7.13 was August 2021, so I don't think we'll see a new LTS release until we're heading to the end of winter 2022.

But the recommendation is to carry on doing exactly what you are - look at each (major) release and see if it improves things for your users.  Balance the benefits for your people against the stability and not-having-to-upgrade-much of LTS releases.

Hi @Michael Vidallon

I addition to what Nic said, here's a link to a community post that might have additional information on choosing the appropriate upgrade path for your environment.

Kind regards,
