Hi
We have one user on Confluence right now, who happens to use it the most, when trying to save a draft receives the attached error. Cache has been cleared, different browsers have been tried but still the same persistent error.
We are using Confluence 6.4.3. I was reading the collaborative issue on the listed problems for Confluence but that isn't related to this particular problem.
I am unsure what else could be causing this. I checked out the Atlassian logs but nothing is reported for this particular user in regards to drafts. Does this log somewhere else?
Regards,
Gareth
Hi Andrew,
could you copy the content of the page to the clipboard, clear the page & try to save. If this works, it's something in the page content.
In rare circumstances, especially when the page has content copied from other sources (mail, etc.) the page content cannot be written to database. This should be logged in the application log. Check for smileys, etc. They might cause this issue.

Hi Jan
Thanks for the response. To clarify the user adds macros to the pages quite frequently. It looks like the macros may be behind this potentially. From what the end user has told me it is not always consistent. Note macro and UI expand macros are being used.
I noticed this error and this problem on JIRA: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-52504

Macros can be an issue... Anything more on the log, when trying to save the page? The warning points to a database issue. You might want to install the Confluence Source Editor from Atlassian:
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1210722/confluence-source-editor
and enable it for you & the user. The editor allows you to view & edit the Confluence storage format when editing a page. This can help when trying to identify the macro or code causing the issue. I would edit the page, open the source editor, copy the content in there out to another notepad (or favorite) editor & trying to identify the macros. Delete them one by one & copy the content back in the source editor window & try to save the page. We had this issue once in a while & that was our way to solve the problem...

Hi Andrew
We store the logs somewhere different but I do have that log file open.
