@Charan Singh That is a very bad upgrade path that you've jumped .

There is a huge gap between 5.7.1 and 6.8.3.

Please avoid skipping so many important releases between them.

If you have a backup - restore back to 5.7.1 and take a better upgrade path.

Hi.. Thanks for the quick reply.

You are correct and I realised this hard way. Now, this is my problem.

I uninstalled the 6.8.x version.

When I try to restore back my installation directory, I keep getting an error from the Windows service that some file missing. I couldn't restore my installation directory. I just pasted the whole directory from my backup location to the installation directory.

Any help or restoring back to previous state? I am not familiar with the Atlassian products.

Thanks again.

For now, stop the service and see if you can start the application from under the /bin directory..

Charan Singh June 11, 2018

Service stopped. Deleted the Confluence installation folder and restored the backup folder.

How do you want me to start the application from /bin folder? Can you elaborate a bit on that?

Charan Singh June 11, 2018

If I am not wrong, you might be referring to the start-confluence batch file? I did that and the page loaded.

But got the below errors:

Please try clearing the plugins cache by following steps in: How to clear confluence plugins cache .

Shutdown Confluence,
Delete bellow directories:

<confluence-home>/plugins-cache
<confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache
