Confluence ( crowd user directory ) unable to reset password

Hi,

when I choose in confluence login page to reset password, I'll receive reset link, then I'm I'm asked to set new password.

After confirmation there is the error:

Internal Error 

I don't know what to look for in logs, there are many records.

I'm able to use the similar procedure using crowd directly.

It would be nice to provide the logs so people in this community will try to help you. Couple of questions,

Is your confluence connected to crowd for authentication / authorization ?

Is your  crowd connected to any external user mgmt (ex: AD / LDAP)?

Is the user you're trying to reset the password for, an Internal user or AD user? and does it exists in confluence's database?

Confluence is connected to crowd for authentication

Crowd is not connected to any external mgmt

Confluence internal directory ( user database ) is disabled - because of reaching limit of licences - so the user exists in crowd and the crowd is the only user directory in confluence. 

I can connect with that user to confluence the problem is only with password reset procedure.

I'll add logs later.

We have older versions :

Confluence: 5.6.4

Crowd: 2.8.0
