Hi there,
I understand you can create Templates in Confluence which you can use to create pages with that layout however is there a way to edit the Master Template and have those updates automatically pull through to all existing pages with that template applied?
Or is this possible with another plug in?
Cheers!
Hi @Emily Shaw , @Paul Crookes , @Pritesh Gohil and @Stijn Beeckmans actually ServiceRocket's Scaffolding Forms & Templates provides this capability:
Live templates simplify updates
With Live Templates, pages dynamically inherit the template’s structure and layout in Confluence. Thousands of pages can be updated with just one click, making maintenance and updates faster and more accurate.
The app is available in Server, Data Center and Cloud. Hope this helps!
Hi Emily,
so about what specific template are you talking here? If for example a space administrator uses available blueprints and edits them, he can always revert back to the default state ( =global blueprint in the system administration, where you can edit it) and if you create a global page template a space admin can only use the template as you defined it globally and changes will always be reflected on newly created pages. Of course not on pages that already have been created! :) Best, Max

Hi Max,
Not really talking about a specific template as of yet.
Essentially I want to be able to create a page with a layout then use that to populate many pages with that same layout. The issue with this is if further down the track we decided to add a new section to these pages I don’t want to have to go through all the pages already created and add this section in manually. Does that make sense?
Cheers,
Emily

Hi Emily,
as said for content already existing in Confluence changes to a used template will not be reflected :/

Yeah that is what I've read so far. Was hoping there might be some magical work around out there.
Thanks for your time though Max!!

I'm still looking for that solution. Do we have it yet?

+1
Would be an amazing feature to be able to update the template of existing pages... Is there a feature request created for this idea?
