Hi
I've been meaning to find some why to keep our wiki space up to date. I'd like if I could get a list of all pages that are more than xx days old (last edited), and then contact the author for him to review it. A continuous cycle to review or delete stale/obsolete pages.
If the author is not employed I'd like to change that to someone else, to place ownership.

Last time I was a curator, I was quite fond of "wiki gardener", but often ended up with some more hand-rolled solutions, like using Confluence Analytics (now part of Atlassian), Better Content Archiving and others to identify pages and Scripts to delete/move/archive y chosen pages.
For a more preventative approach (stop people creating and publishing huge amounts of stuff, rather than pruning later), I've tended towards either the Scroll apps or the Comala ones.
One of the solutions Nic mentioned, Better Content Archiving is a dedicated Confluence CLM (Content Lifecycle Management) solution that would cover your requirements and more!
Once you set up your rules on what should be considered "not viewed" and "expired", you can automate the notification workflow for the right stakeholders (not just the author), like space admin, last editor, a specific supervisor, or others.
Beyond the automated notifications, archiving can also be automated, so if users don't respond to reminders, stale pages can be safely archived, removing them from sight (menus, searches, pages trees, etc), but keeping them in an archive space for restoration or later use (or eventual deletion).
All in all, after an initial setup, the app can take care of keeping Confluence clean: marking stale pages, sending out notifications, and archiving without your intervention.

It looks like this won't work with the Cloud version. :(
