Dear community

We are using Confluence in german and would like to have the content (not the menu) also displayed in another language. Is there any plugin, that translates "on-the-fly"?

All the plugins I have seen so far require a manual translation first.

Thanks a lot!

Hi @reto.vestner and @Fabienne Gerhard

Easy Confluence Translator is the solution to your problem. The plugin translates the chosen text into your desired language.

See a list of the plugin's functionalities:

  • Set a list of preferred languages you wish to use globally for view and edit mode, including your default preferred language, in the admin configuration or in your profile settings
  • When using the app in edit mode, you can simply select the text you wish to translate, click on the "Translate" button and select which language to translate to (The languages visible in this dialog are the ones you specified in the admin or profile settings)
  • Integrated with Deepl and Google, and compatible with draw.io
  • Evaluate the app for free without the need to register an API account up front
  • A developer-authentication key for Deepl and Google is required to use this app; however, for evaluation, you can translate a certain amount for free

Here is the link to the Easy Confluence Translator plugin:

Please feel free to contact me for any further information

Hi @Fabienne Gerhard

Deepl is a great translation tool and as we are a multi-language company we had the idea of putting our everyday use of Deepl into our everyday work on Confluence.

We hope the Easy Confluence Translator works for your needs!

Hi all

Quick follow-up question: Is there anything similar for Jira? We would like to translate the content also there.

Many thanks,

Reto

Hi @reto.vestner

that's something that would interest me too - pretty sure machine translation is not available, but prove me wrong. Language is a problem, especially with dynamic content (that changes pretty often)

You can open the system using Google Translate in Browser - problem is it's google, don't know if you wanna open it. Second problem is, if you have real technical specific content machine translation may (better will) cause real problems ;)

I will watch this topic - please let me know if you have any opportunities :)
