Copying or Import/Export one confluence page to another instance of confluence

I have read several discussions on copying/importing/exporting a confluence page to another instance of confluence.  We use the confluence 'sections' on our pages, we use quite a bit of formatting, and then there are the images.  All I am hearing is use the copy/paste (doesn't work using sections), use the Word export/import function (breaks images), use the PDF export.  I can export to PDF, open it in Word, save it as Word document, and then import it into my other instance, and then do cleanup.  At least the images come through.  But this is really labor intensive for all the documentation pages that we do using confluence.  I have identical global templates on both instances (dev and prod).  Isn't there a better solution than the PDF/Word/Cleanup?

You could use WebDAV to move the page between the two instances. Take a look at Use a WebDAV Client to Work with Pages

I'm trying this method, but it produces blank pages in the wiki, even though all the files are there. Any suggestion?

I use Comala Workflows for an elaborate approval process on my documents and Comala has a free plugin called Remote Publishing that will publish to an alternate Confluence instance. Of course you have to buy the Workflows plugin and then add this freebie. Comala also has a lite version of Workflows which is probably cheaper and has less functionality, I don't know if it works with Remote Publishing, probably not since it says Basic Modifications.

You can also copy storage format across using Confluence Source Editor. 

This way all formatting including sections will be preserved.

After the plug-in is installed, use < > in the top right corner of page editor to see storage format. 

Attachments however will not be moved and have to be copied across manually, but the placeholder for them will still exist, so if images are attached to the new page in advance, then images will be displayed correctly after storage format is copied. You will only see < > in page editor of already saved pages, so if creating new, first save page then edit.

The only other way I could think of is to export entire space to XML, but only tick the page you want to be moved. Import space to a new instance, move the page to a new location and delete imported space.

Both options are labour intensive, so check Mikael's option as it might be an easier one.
