Custom Field

Is there a way to add a custom field to all my confluence pages?     I want to create an Author field.   I'd like it to default to the creator field already there but if the person is creating for someone else, I want them to be able to change the author.  

If that is not possible, is it possible to change the author of the document.   

I need the author listed and it may not be the person creating the page and I need a field so that I can point our search tool at it.

Thank you!    I will try that, I'm just not sure it will do what I need.   The search engine

that I'm using can crawl it but I think to do what we want, we'll need a custom field.    Doesn't look like that's available in Confluence Cloud from what I read.    I'll try this as an option though.
