Hello,
we would like to disable the Recommended Updates email completely. Unfortunately, there is no option available on the corresponding configuration page.
Does the checkbox "Send by default" also deactivate this function for existing users or does this only apply to newly created users?
On the server instances you can deactivate a system plugin. Is there also a way for the cloud systems?
The general email settings for Confluence notifications have changed/improved a lot in the past few months. I think it is also clearer now how to turn off email notifications like the Recommended Updates and Daily Digest, as well as regular, real-time notifications.
This question has been emerging lately, as the new Daily Digest doesn't cover all requirements and removed some great features the Daily Update had. In case you are interested, I wrote a guide on the current state of Daily Digest, how to turn it off and turn on a better experience.
Turning all options off here should disable all notifications. Also note that some notifications can't be managed by admins, they depend on the users' settings (watched pages, etc):
The "send by default" should disable this feature for all users. And on Cloud you can't unfortunately disable modules as you do on server.

Hi Alex,
thank you for the hint. We give it a try and will see if there are notifications for the recommended updates in the next days
