Disable email notification when a task is assigned to a user

Hi,

I´ve seen a lot of people having the same issue but no working answers.

I have a list of tasks to do. Some are for regular users and some are for the CEO and CTO but I dont want them(CEO and CTO) to be notified by email. This is something I want to have a track on it, but they would not actually do the job. But I need those tasks to be assigned to them so I can keep track of them using a macro in which they are the assignees.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thank you in advance.

You could add them as participants, and then you would need to add them to a group or role with a different notifications scheme, removing their email notifications.

There is a notifications feed available in Jira so you could advise them that they need to log in to Jira and check to see if they have any notifications. This much less invasive but of course they might miss something important so you should keep an eye or have someone else responsible so that urgent Jira updates can be brought to their attention.

HI Stuart thank you for your fast reply. That is a good plan but I was thinking more on the Confluence side. Is there any way in Confluence that I could just disable notifications from confluence fot these people? As you noted the drawbacks of having to keep an eye is something that I would very much like to avoid. Any other workaround that you could think of? I was thinking of using aliases but I´d love to work with the notifications on confluence.

Again thank you for your reply.

Marcelo
