I have a Vendor database. The Vendor field has a 'Field type' of 'Link' and a page is created when a vendor's name is entered.
This database is linked to:
I want the information in the tables linked to the Vendor to be displayed in the Vendor's page that is created when a new vendor is added.
For instance, I add the vendor Acme who supports the software "Road Runner Tracker" and "Fireworks Guidance System" and also the hardware "Large Hammer", "Birdseed Dispenser" and "Bird Net". The Vendor has contacts for "Account Manager", "Support" and "Emergency".
So I want to see three entries on the Vendor page:
Is this available out of the box? If so can you please provide a link to videos and/or documentation.
If not then what is the recommended way to implement this with the least amount of user interaction (i.e., avoid having to manually copy links to the created page).
Kind regards,
Glyn
Hi @Glyndwr Bartlett ,
As I see, you are talking about databases. Unfortunately, don't have any ideas here.
But you may try good old tables instead: as each vendor has its own page, you may look into building the master report with the help of the standard Page Properties/Page Properties Report macros (the source pages' titles with links are collected automatically).
Or you may use some 3rd party apps to amplify this native solution. As we develop the Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app, you may switch to the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros instead (they serve as an advanced version of the Page Properties/Page Properties Report macros) and add filtration/aggregation on the fly with the help of our other macros.
Thank you for your input; however, using databases lets me centralise the administration of the data. Please review the documentation on Confluence Databases to gain more insights into its benefits.
Kind regards,
Glyn
