Context:
Our team has started with confluence one year ago and our Space has sort of grown organically. As I've been given the task to streamline and declutter our space, I have been archiving pages and converting pages to blogposts.
Also, I would like to use the index page but our page total is still over 500 pages.
Just to be certain that we're on the right approach I'd like to know the following:
Question:
Do archived and plogpages count towards this index-maximum of 500 pages.
Hello!
Thanks for providing the context and what you're intended goal is. To confirm, Blogs (while similar in structure) are not considered pages in the perspective of the Page Index macro. Blogs will not display within the page list.
Sometimes pages do have rapid page creation and this can be hard to get in front of. If you're hitting limits with the Page Index macro you can explore breaking out your content with the Page Tree macro. Using this macro would allow you to scope specific pages and content pages on the parent and adjust depth.
Archived pages do not count towards the Page Index macro page count. More information on this may be found on Archive pages.
More on this can be found at Insert the page tree macro.

Thank's for clarifying the blog-question?
I assume the same applies for archived pages?

Hello,
Apologies for skipping over the archived pages. No Archived pages do not towards your page count. I'll update my answer above to reflect this.

Stephen Sifers
