Exporting to PDF from Confluence 6.7.2

Magnus Magnusson April 3, 2018

I have a problem after upgrading to Confluence  from 6.4.3 with exporting Spaces og pages with attactedment (PNG & JPG images)to PDF. Images will come as random order in PDF file, or 1 out of 3 images are as 1 images for those different three.

This is working 100% using export to Word !

Has anyone been in this situation?

@Magnus Magnusson can you please provide the steps to reproduce? What images in img1 / img2 / img3 are png and jpg?

Just for your information, we have fixed an issue related to png image export to pdf in Confluence 6.8.0

It may fix your problem.

This test case has .PNG images, we allso tested in .JPG with the same results.

To reproduce: Save different images (PNG or JPG) on Confluence page. Select export to PDF button. Results should be random image order will appear in PDF output.

Will be correct in export to Word.

This fixed issue, is it Confserver-52060 ? I cant find issue in 6.8 release notes that are with Export to PDF problem.

Ok did you test with 3 png and 3 jpg images cases? Or do you mix between those extensions?

Ah Confserver-52060 fixed another problem.

I am testing 2 cases:

First one is all 3 png files test png random export order - Minh Tran - Bulldog 2018-04-04 23-37-09.png

Here is the corresponding export pdf

mtran-testpngrandomexportorder-040418-1335-4.pdf 2018-04-04 23-41-04.png

Another case is 3 png on the top and then 3 jpg next to those.

test png random export order - Minh Tran - Bulldog 2018-04-04 23-42-14.png

and the export pdf of that page:

mtran-testpngrandomexportorder-040418-1338-6.pdf 2018-04-04 23-43-16.png

Those look good to me in the Confluence 6.8.0+

Ok did you test with 3 png and 3 jpg images cases? Or do you mix between those extensions?  We tested 3 png and again with 3 jpg, not mixed.

You are only testing in 6.8 right ? Can you test in 6.7.2 ? So the fix is to upgrade again ?

I haven't got a chance to test with 6.7.2. Probably i can try again tomorrow morning and update here

Ste DB May 9, 2018

Upgraded yesterday from Confluence 6.6.1 to 6.6.4 and reproduced.

No matter if images are all .png or .png & .jpg mixed.

Seems that, sometimes, export utility applies the last image to all the images in the same paragraph/bullet list/table row.

It happens in many cases, not always, but I'm unable to identify the "logic" behind.

Hope these info are helpful.

Thanks. I cleared the Global PDF Style sheet and saved, then the PDF exports where fine.

Ste DB May 9, 2018

Global PDF Style sheet is already clear on my Confluence.
Modified and saved: still not working...
Cleared again and saved: still not working...

Any idea?

Hi @Magnus Magnusson

this sounds like a weird behaviour on your Confluence application.

You should report and try to resolve this issue with Atlassian support > https://support.atlassian.com/confluence/

Good luck and best wishes
