Hi Atlassian Experts,

I am fetching jira issue data into confluence pages to populate them in certain reports, but it shows up as a link to jira issue, is there a way with which I can fetch the jira data without that being presented as a link to actual issue ?

If possible, please suggest.

Thanks you very much in advance.

@Vishal Can you explain why having the link to Jira is a problem for you?

Thanks

Rina

Hi Rina,

We would like to show only specific information to the users, which is not confidential specific to when it comes to finances & stuff. So, we want to show them information but restrict them to go to the actual issue & find out further details from the issue.

I hope that clarifies the background of this requirement.

thanks

Hello Vija,

Thanks for clarifying.

If this is your motivation, then Jira Macro will not work for you. The issues that are included in the Jira macro view are only issues that the viewing user has access to in Jira. So, if a user A has not access to the jira issues on Jira, then when he will view the page in Confluence he will not see the Jira data at all.

You can solve your use case with this marketplace app: Jira Snapshots for Confluence (Cloud/ Data Center). I am the product manager for the app, so here is the gist:
1. Jira Snapshots copies data from Jira and attaches it to Confluence. So everyone has the same view (even if they do not have access to Jira)

2. The jira issue keys are hyperlinked to Jira, but a user with no permissions to access them in Jira will not be able to follow the link.

3. If a user has no EDIT permission on the Confluence page he cannot refresh the Jira data (in Confluence) - so you have full control of what they see (ie- the exact fields, and the selection of issues).

I hope this helps,

Rina

Hi @Vishal ,

If in Edit mode it shows the Jira Macro, you can click on it and edit the settings. You can click on Display options and switch from Single issue to Issue table. And you can choose which fields to display.

If in Edit mode it shows the URL only, you can remove the URL and insert the Jira Macro.

Have a nice day!
