Hi
We use Comala to approve our documents in Confluence and we use Gliffy for diagrams. Some gliffy diagrams are reused on several Confluence pages.
With the server version you can "pin" gliffy versions to a Confluence page. We use the cloud version. Is there a workaround or best practice to use Gliffys on Comala governed Confluence pages?
Problem 1: Changing the gliffy is still possible even if the Confluence page is approved.
Problem 2: by changing a reused gliffy on another page the approved Confluence page is changed automatically.
I see two solutions but there might be more:
A. create a subpage for each Confluence page governed by Comala and keep the Gliffy there. Only use images of the diagram on the main page.
B. create some kind of script or job which is run on demand or daily which goes through all Comala pages in an approved state and checks if the Gliffy change data is more recent than the Confluence change date. (is this even possible?).

Hi @R_ P_ , I'm not with Gliffy (actually with draw.io) , but I did formerly work with Comalatech/Appfire.
One thing you could do in Comala Document Management Server/DC was to set page restrictions after a page was approved. This means you could lock a page from editing by removing edit permissions for everyone (except the page owner and admins).
This feature isn't available in the Cloud currently, but I do know that the CDM roadmap has some custom triggers on it for 2023. It might be worth reaching out to Appfire to see if Page Restrictions are one of the triggers they're working on.
Hi Mike
Thx, for your answer. I used to work with draw.io at another company. draw.io and Gliffy both are great tools. Does draw.io have a feature to solve the problems mentioned above?

Hi @R_ P_
The only option you have is limiting the page or space permissions, as most apps stick to these permissions (draw.io is one of them). But this is more a workaround, the main task is to get this thing working inside of Comala Document Management from my point of view.

Hi Roli!
Love to hear that you're using these two apps together — would you mind reaching out to me at skaufman@perforce.com so that I can introduce you to our product manager? Some of the solutions for these issues could veer into feature request territory, but I think that could be great for some of our customers!
Right now we have the ability to disable the copy diagram feature for Server and DC, but I'm not certain it's available for Cloud. As an immediate workaround, I agree that the subpage option (A) could be the best way to "lock things down" a bit more.
