Handling of Guest Users working in different spaces

Hello,

I am currently working on restructuring our confluence space but a speciality is keeping me from narrowing down the amount and effectiveness of active spaces.
On a regular basis external cooperators are invited to work with us on confluence but they cannot be sorted into one group. They are widespread over the different spaces that cover different departments.

As they will have to see the home space of every space they are added there is always the risk of unwanted knowledge to be shared by accident. My first thought would be to create a blank, very generic home space and introduce the actual used "home space" as a child page of the home space. This way I could prevent the visibility but it does not feel very elegant as it means a shift of the whole corporate users experience for the sake of few guest users.

Has anybody experienced a similar problem and an idea how to solve this?

We have a lot of external users as well and there is not a great way to do it.  We have specific spaces that we allow external users to access.  We control the access by using groups that are set up on specific sites to access specific information.  We then perform audits to ensure that those groups can only access specific information.   The groups also allow us to easily move individuals in and out.

Do you make sure then that each home space contains only limited information?

@Dominique depends on the information stored in the space.  If we have information relevant to everyone we place it at the base level otherwise we lock it all down.
