How can I get a report of Page views in Confluence 6.9.3

Robert Duffer January 10, 2019

I think I have a lot of pages and spaces that are no longer used but I need a tool to verify.  Any suggestions?

Hi Robert,

we use the tracking-app by ServiceRocket. It works well and is for free.

But it's only counting hits from the moment on, when it was installed.

hanks Thomas.  I downloaded it but can't seem to find any instructions for use.  Do you know where I might find examples, FAQ, user manual or anything else that might tell me how to use it?

Hi @Robert Duffer,

here's a bit of documentation:

https://docs.servicerocket.com/display/TRAC/Macro+Reference

But let me explain a little bit, how this is working:

Once installed, the tracking app counts all page views (except the ones from the last author of the page).

To get the number of page view, you have to put the macro "tracking-info" on a page.

This macro can return different values:

  • age in days
  • creation date
  • first view date
  • id
  • last view date
  • modification date
  • title
  • view count  (that's the number you are looking for)
  • views per day

Put one or more instances of this macro on a page and you will see the values for this page.

Another macro is the  tracking-table and the tracking-column macro. With these macros, you can get a list of pages and their view count (and other data).

Put the Tracking Table macro on a page. You can edit the tracking-table macro and restrict your data to pages only, e.g. Otherwise you will also see attachments in the list.

Then put as many tracking-column macros into that tracking-table macro, e.g. insert a column with the title, then the view count, the next one with modification date or whatever you need.

Save the page and you will get a table with your pages and their view count.
