How can i create folders for media files?

naime_surenkok January 27, 2018

Dear all,

I am a newbie in Confluence, and i want to create folders to manage the photos i am uploading to add in the pages, so that i can have more neat, tidy media folders. How can i do that?

Thanks in advance,

naime

@naime_surenkok, there are not really folders in Confluence. But you can just use a page with the functionality you are looking for.

  1. Create a Page, Just give it a title not content. Save.
  2. Tools -> Attachments. Upload your media files.
  3. Return to page view. Now the paper clip icon is visible.
  4. Edit the page.
  5. Press the icon for "Insert more content". Select "Other macros".
  6. Now you can make your media files visible in a list. Select the "Attachment" macro.
  7. For your need select the Gallery macro. This will thumbnail all attached images.

See my screen shot of such a page with three audio files. I had no images at hand. Hope that was helpful.

Dear Sebastian, thank you for the response, but actually, i do not want these folders visible to the watchers, i just want to keep them organized in the back stage. When i post, or want to edit them, i want them to be kept in folders, so i can organize neatly.

Okay i think i got the solution,

1- i have created a page named as "media folder"

2-following your suggestion, i am creating sub pages (folders)

3-And put all the media sorted in different pages

4-go to my original page and call these media from "search in other pages"

5-hide this media folder page from other users:)
