How do I gain access to Atlassian Companion?

Matt McCorkle May 28, 2019

I am trying to embed an Excel Spreadsheet that can be manipulated by employees and saved...thus allowing everyone to view the uploaded work. I successfully have the excel sheet on the page. When I click the spreadsheet to try and edit it...I'm running into an error. I click the "edit with" tab. Then I click the "edit using excel 2016" tab. Then, an error appears indicating "access denied". I have Atlassian Companion downloaded to my computer and have already trusted Confluence to use the app. Now for some reason I am no longer able to open the Atlassian Companion app nor do I have access to edit documents in Confluence.

Hi @Matt McCorkle

What error do you get exactly? Just the Access denied or a runtime error?

Do you get the same rror on an other document in your confluence?

The "Access denied" seems to me, that someone changend the permissions on the space or the page (see restrictions). Or with the companion app it could be, that the trust wasn't accepted or faulty.

Thanks for sharing the information

Best Regards

Dominic

Hi Dominic,

The error message that pops up says "Lockpoint encountered a problem. Access denied" and this message appears right after I click "Edit with Excel 2016".

Hi Matt,

The error message suggests that Cenote Lockpoint might be involved. Could you please drop us a line with your contact info on the Cenote support page so that we can get more details?

In general, this sort of message would typically appear if there were a communication or network error in trying to reach the server. If the page can be reloaded without error but editing still doesn't work, the message could also appear if there were some sort of error on the server itself, which we'd be happy to investigate further.

With best regards,
Scott @ Cenote

Hi Scott,

I accidentally clicked a button in my email that turned off the ability to view your responses. I am unable to replicate the lockpoint error, however I still am running into the problem with the "edit with" function. I can successfully click the "edit with excel 2016" tab...but then the excel sheet never loads to allow me to edit.
