How do I get Grammarly to work with Confluence?

We're investigating getting Confluence to work with Grammarly, but I can't seem to get to work. Does it work? Is there a plug-in? Is there a workaround? Just need it while composing the content in a space, not with sharing or publishing.

Hi David,

You should be able to copy and paste the Grammarly text into Grammarly's web editor. There is a suggestion for this feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-44321

However, i would also recommend you check with your Security team if Grammarly should be used. Most people don't realize Grammarly is a key-logger and unless you have the premium version they may not be providing you with the same level of encryption they are now beginning to offer their highest tier account. My initial suggestion above also helps minimize the tool key-logging but not completely.

Thanks Clark. I just got it to work while writing, which is crucial (rather than cutting and pasting). We have the new Business version of Grammarly. Maybe that's why it's working now.

which is the definition of keylogging. Obviously it only happens when you are using the app, which is why the copy paste method i posted minimizes it. However, from a legal standpoint unless you pay for enterprise and have an nda with them they aren't liable to keep your data safe. If you have an NDA with them though they are.

This goes for any online grammar tool.

I use the Grammarly browser extension with Edge and Confluence - works fine. I didn't need to do anything special to get it to work.

Before: For me, it does work however it does not sunlight a typo unless I click/hover on the word that contains a typo first (this is super annoying)

now: it also works :)

You inspired me to look at it again. In the browser extension toolbar (I assume your Grammarly is displayed there), click the "G" for Grammarly. It displays a number of options that I assume are all enabled by default.

I believe Confluence doesn't support Grammarly mostly because Atlassian has its writing assistance extensions on the marketplace ;-)

This is very annoying :D specially if you paste text created on confluence anywhere and you then see all your typos :D
