Hi everyone,
We are doing content restructuring on confluence and need to move pages from one space to another and we need to do this for multiple pages across spaces. The biggest challenge that this is posing is the broken bookmark links this will result in because most bookmarked links are prettified.
I wanted to request the alternative solutions or workarounds that the community might have used (Use of plugins/Banners etc). Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your help.
If you move a page, people landing on the old url for it will be given a "this page has moved to" message automatically.
If you want to pro-actively redirect them, you'll need to create a new page with the old name and put a redirect chunk of code on it.
The automatic "Your page might have been moved...." is rather inconvenient because this scenario is expected for hundreds of users across many pages. It can be quite frustrating to have to click on two links for every other page you try to open. Also, I don't think confluence says for sure like "This page has been moved to yy location". It just suggests "Your page might have been moved to yy location". Has there been a recent change to this that I might be missing?
For second option using something like a "Redirection for Confluence" plugin, the entire existing page hierarchy will have to be copied before redirecting which is also not a good option again given the volume of pages

So how else would you do this? Confluence's "this page has been moved to" is about the only "solution" you could usefully implement.

I could not figure out a better solution myself. Hence, was wondering if anyone else has implemented a more innovative solution.
Thanks for taking the time and answering though.

I was hoping for a link similar to Google drive where the link does not change even if the page is moved. We add page links to embedded draw.io diagrams and when the page is moved these links are broken

Google drive's urls do not change because the pages are not being moved when you change them.

@Jude Wood Hey Jude. How do you embed you links in draw.io and which Confluence deployment are you using? If you embed links via the linking menu, the links will work even if you move your page inside of Confluence. May you specify?
