How do you copy and paste a table within the same page?

Novan Sachrudi February 5, 2020

I have a table on a page that I need to move into either a page properties macro and/or a collapse/expand macro.

I took a bit of time doing the table and would really rather not spend the same time creating the table again.

Posing this question again because in the past there have been workarounds but none of them seem to work anymore.

In the new editor, if you click inside the table, a small edge will appear along the top and left side. Click the corner at the top left and you will select the entire table. If you Copy the selected area, you now copy the entire table.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Novan Sachrudi

You can

  1. add the page properties and/or collapse/expand macro to the page
  2. copy/cut paste the entire table as is into the body of the macro.

In both new editor experience and older editor, this work.

In case the table cells' content does not get pasted as expected, you can add a dummy table (2X2) from the toolbar. With the cursor in the first cell of this table, paste the copied/cut table content into this table.

Once of these should work. Let me know if you need additional help.

Thanks

Sireesha
