How do you keep all headings when importing from word to Confluence?

Brian Sheridan July 30, 2019

When I import a word document the Heading 1 style does not display. All other headings do seem to display.

The Word document needs to be formatted using the default format names, for example Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.  And make sure your headings are formatted using these styles and not formatted to look like a heading.

Do you meant that they need to have the default name and default style for Heading 1, Heading 2 etc?

Just the default name. I see a lot of Word docs where the user just manually formatted everything, so it may look like a heading but really isn't.

There are times when I need to re-level the headings, for example, if the doc has a chapter title, then H1, H2, etc. I then go back and reformat so that the hierarchy starts with H1.
