How to include a button on the default Welcome message template

Can anybody suggest a way to include a button on the default welcome message template. I tried to include using html include, but it breaking the welcome page.

Editing the template works the same as editing a page.  You can add a button one of two ways:

1. Add an image and hyperlink it
2. Add a button through an add-on like the Lozenge Macro that is part of the Content Formatting Add-on.

AUI is Atlassians framework for creating products.  If you were to build your own marco you could use this.
