We have a Space dedicated to a project. We would like the external consultants to land on this space and not beeing able to see anyting else on the site, including the feed of recent changes in other sites. How can we fully isolate consultants like this?
Huldar
Hey Huldar,
I would doublecheck with some test users, but you should be able to create a different user group to be used in the global permissions just for the contractors. Make sure that the group is given the "Can use" permission within Confluence. You can then lock your other sites down so that members of the "confluence-users" group have access while the contractors do not.
This should work, as I believe if you can't see a space you don't get updates when changes are made to it.
Thank you Kian, I think I am on the right track. But I am now being asked if I can limit the contractors group from beeing able to view the People directory, so the contractors are not able to see the names of other contractors for example. Would this be somehow possible to accomplish?

@Huldar Sigurdsson, I have the same issue and would like to find a solution for Confluence Cloud. If you are on Confluence Server consider the Space Privacy Plugin.
FYI, in case you have not seen these links (These do no answer the concern about hiding users from other users)
