Hi Team,
I am trying to mirror info from one Confluence page to an other and I found very useful the Excerpt Macro. The only issue that I am facing is that I can not find a way to collapse the macro as if it is an expand that you can open up when needed. Is there a way to make it works as the Expand Macro or to insert it in it?
Many thanks,
Best,
Angelo
Hello @Angelo Nigro !
As I understand, you need to include an Excerpt Include Macro within another macro, the Expand Macro.
You should be able to insert the Excerpt Include macro into the Expand macro. I tried on my own Confluence Cloud site and it works as expected. Here is what I did:
- Create a new page
- Insert the Excerpt Macro
- Type whatever I need inside the macro
- Publish the page
- Create a new page
- Insert the Expand macro
- Select the text field within the Expand macro
- Insert the Excerpt Include macro within the Expand macro
- Select the page where I put the Excerpt macro in the Excerpt Include macro settings
- Publish the page
After I published the page, the expand macro works as expected.
Here is what it looks like on my end:

Hi Diego,
Many thanks for your quick reply and the video-guide.
As expected the Expand Macro works perfectly fine when including the Excerpt Include Macro but unfortunately it seems not working the same way with the Excerpt Macro.
When I try to insert the Excerpt Macro in an Expand Macro it just goes below it but I can not include it in the Expand.
It would be great if both the Excerpt and the Excerpt Include Macros could be insert in an Expand.
Best,
Angelo

Alright! Thanks for keeping the thread alive, @Angelo Nigro. I certainly misunderstood your initial request.
Upon testing, I can guarantee you that the behavior you described is present.
With this in mind, I can see how this fall under this report:
